Glasgow-based Momentum Films, led by producer Rakasree Basu, is a Scottish independent production company that focuses on engaging global audiences through cross-cultural storytelling. The company develops original and adapted IPs for theatrical and broadcast release, as well as collaborates as a UK minority co-producer on international co-productions.

 

The company's objective emphasises converging the Scottish and international screen industries to enable the screen economy sector to foster an empowering ecosystem for immigrants, underrepresented groups, and first-generation entrants, thereby building an equitable and accessible workspace in the Scottish screen industry.

Momentum's key areas of focus are feature films and high-end television drama. Additionally, the company is currently exploring the expansion of its content into feature-length and short documentaries, lifestyle, and factual entertainment.

Momentum Films was one of the ten Scottish companies selected for the Film City Futures Horizons program, supported by the Scottish Government and Scottish Enterprise's Ecosystem Fund.
