Rakasree is recognised for her pioneering efforts in converging Nordic and Indian cinematic landscapes. Through her company Frames Per Second Films 

in Mumbai, India, Rakasree co-produced the Swedish television series ‘The Most Beautiful Hands of Delhi’, commissioned by the Swedish Television (SVT) and directed by Academy Award-nominated Hannes Holm. She also co-produced the first Danish-Indian feature film ‘Iqbal and the Jewel of India’, a theatrical success that received two nominations at the Danish Film Awards.

Rakasree is a Cannes Producers Network 2019, Torino Green Film Lab 2024, 

and Rotterdam Lab 2025 graduate, and is currently part of the prestigious Creative Europe Media-funded EAVE Producers Workshop 2025, supported by Screen Scotland and the British Council.

 

She also served as a consultant to the Indian Government's Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, helping to establish the Film Facilitation Office (FFO) to streamline the permission process for overseas projects filming in India. This included introducing a Film Visa and formulating the filming incentive policy for international co-productions and service production projects.

An alumnus of the University of Glasgow with a Master's degree in Creative Industries and Cultural Policy, Rakasree was awarded the British Council Creative Economy Scholarship in 2021.

Recognised for her exceptional contributions to the creative economy sector, Rakasree was awarded the fellowship of the Royal Society of Arts, London, and the India Achievers Award – 75 at 75 by NISAU and the British Council in 2023.

She currently sits on the advisory committee of the British Council Scotland.
